Every life changed by Christ
 Logan Pyron
 Minister of Youth

I was born in San Francisco, CA in 1989. My father served in the military, which is why I ended up over there in the first place. I  was raised in the small town of Brownsville, TN and received Christ just before I turned 16. My father worked as a teacher and  eventual principal, and my mother works as a nutritionist for the state. I also have a brother that is about as like me as night is to  day. I grew up playing football and went to college originally to do musical theatre (Dad was so proud…)

During my final years in college, I encountered three things that would change my walk completely: working as a counselor at Deer Run Retreat, competing in collegiate Judo, and meeting my wife. Each opportunity mentioned stretched me mentally, physically,  and spiritually, and each holds an amazingly large spot in my heart.

My call to ministry was one that I was not expecting. I was teaching writing, coaching football, and doing my best to make my first year of marriage a good one. When I was asked about taking the position, I did not think that I was qualified; and still don’t when I compare myself to the rest of this church’s amazing staff, but I agreed to take it on and it has been the most amazing thing I’ve ever done. The way I see it, God spoke loudest into my life through the youth ministers that I met during my walk. If that’s the case, in itself is an honor that I may get to do the same for the next youth looking for answers.

Being a teacher, I love reaching out to young people and giving them that “A-ha” moment. In this day and age, it is becoming increasingly difficult to reach youth in schools on a Christian level, so it’s definitely very freeing to be able to do so in a church setting. I love playing games, getting to know young people, and, of course, teaching on why God loves us and how we can be more like Christ in a changing world and society. If you have youth, or are a youth reading this, come join us on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. We’d love to have you hang out with us and have fun, and maybe even learn a little bit more about how amazing our God really is.

I definitely think that I am the luckiest man on the planet when I see my wife. As soon as I found out that she liked me, I was a little in disbelief. How a woman like her can put up with me, let alone love me, is outside of my comprehension, but I definitely knew that I was going to marry her, the first time we went to church together. I’ve never seen anybody love God like her…(and my in-laws are ok too.)

God has blessed me in a way that I wish I could articulate. He has done a work in me that never ceases, and it has only gotten better and better. Like I said, come hang out with us, we’d love to get to know you.
